Carolyn Kitchens

Carolyn Kitchens, 82, of Macon, Georgia, died Thursday, March 9, 2017. Services will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at 2:30PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry Street, with the Reverend Robbie Jones officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:30PM until 2:30PM at the funeral home on Sunday. The family has requested that donations be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Building Fund, 6611 Zebulon Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mrs. Kitchens was the daughter of the late Atlee McKinley Harris and the late Callie Ard Harris. She was predeceased by ten siblings. A graduate of A. L. Miller High School, Mrs. Kitchens enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church and had been attending Tabernacle Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery for more than twenty years. Mrs. Kitchens is survived by her husband of sixty years, Gene Kitchens of Macon; daughter, Sheree Carter (Jerry) of Macon; grandchildren, Staci Carter of Macon, and her fiancé, Paul Hofius of Atlanta, and Cameron Carter (Amanda) of Statesboro, Georgia; brother, Felton Harris (Elizabeth) of Milledgeville, Georgia; several nieces and nephews.
