Carolyn Garner Cauley

Carolyn Garner Cauley, 82, of Macon, Georgia, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, September 15, 2024.  The family will greet friends from 5PM to 7PM on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Hart’s at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or to the donor’s favorite charity.

Daughter of the late Howard Garner and Frances Thompson Garner, Carolyn was born in Macon on October 6, 1941.  She was a 1960 graduate of McEvoy High School. In 1968, she married her beloved husband, Ray Eugene Cauley. Together, they built a life filled with love and laughter.

Carolyn's passions brought warmth to many, from spirited Rook and Spades games with her cousins to her devout presence cheering on the sidelines at all the school and sports activities of her grandchildren. She cheered wholeheartedly for the GA Bulldog and ATL Braves and her heart swayed to the melodies of Elvis and the heartwarming tales on the Hallmark Channel.

Above all, Carolyn cherished her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Those who were blessed with her "Nana Time" experienced the magic of her presence, from doing nails, hosting tea parties and summertime fun in her pool.

Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Sabrina Griffin of Kathleen; son, Scot Cauley (Becky) of Macon; daughter in law, Leslie Watson of Macon; grandchildren: Savannah Griffin (Zach), Maggie Watson, Kennedy Cauley, Coleman Cauley, and Juliet Watson; great grandchildren, Sawyer and Wade; brother, Ronnie Garner (Trudie) of Lizella; sister, Cheryl Jones of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Eugene Cauley; son, Lew Watson; and brothers, Sydney and Louie Garner.
