Macon-Carol Peake Richardson passed away on Friday, May 7, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11:00AM at Hart's at the Cupola with the Reverends John Kinser and Chip Miller officiating. Burial is private in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM on Monday, May 10, 2010 at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 682 Mulberry Street, Macon GA 31201 or donor's favorite charity.
Carol was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 50 years. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George W. Peake, Sr. Carol was born in Eufaula, Alabama in 1924. She attended college at the Conservatory in Minneapolis and studied art and music. Carol sang in a 500 voice chorus while in college. She has sung many beautiful solos. Carol was a very loving and unselfish woman. She was always baking her wonderful Honey Hermits and preparing beautiful fruit platters for people going through trying times. She was predeceased by her sister, Julia Peake Tinkey and brother, George W. Peake, Jr.
Survivors include son, Steven W. Richardson and wife Julia; son, Lowell M. Richardson and wife Liz; daughter, Jennie Layman; grandchildren, Jessica Renea Yeich and husband Kevin, Keri Michelle Richardson and Daniel Richardson and Emily Palmer, parents of Tyler and Nolan; great grandsons, John Patrick (J.P.) Yeich and Zachary Yeich; sister, Miriam Peake Mitchell and brother, Murray W. Peake. Steven and Julia have 3 children, Thomas H. Watkins, Jr. (Brandy), James B. Watkins, and Kendra Jill Watkins; and 5 grandchildren, Thomas Watkins, Taylor Watkins, James Watkins, Keith Watkins, and Julianna Lee Myrick.
