Carol Sue Reeves, 70, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones at her beloved home on Lake Sinclair. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in Hart's Chapel in Gray, Georgia. A private, family burial will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Bill Hardee officiating. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at the chapel. Carol has made a special request that everyone in attendance wear UGA Dawgs colors.
Carol was born on September 29, 1952, and was raised in Macon, GA, by her cherished parents, Ralph D. Reeves and Grace Pollock Reeves, who both preceded her in death. Carol graduated from A.L. Miller High School in Macon, GA, and attended Middle Georgia College in Cochran, GA. Carol took great pride in her career with the Office of Child Support Recovery and served as the coordinator for its training center in Macon, GA. Upon retirement, Carol continued working part time for the DUI and Defensive Driving School of Milledgeville, GA. She attended Vineville Baptist Church for much of her life and made many life-long friends there. Carol had a deep love for her friends and family and enjoyed having them join her at her home at the lake. She loved lake life and fishing, frog décor, her morning coffee, fashion and fun, and Carol was an avid UGA Dawg fan. She was a devoted mother to her loving son “Richi,” and a doting wife to her forever love Rick.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved parents Ralph D. Reeves and Grace Pollock Reeves and by her dear brother, Larry (“Unc”) Reeves.
Carol is survived by her husband, Rick Bowers of Lake Sinclair; her son, Richard “Richi” O'Neal (Mary Beth) of Milledgeville, GA; her step-children, Kelly Bowers of Rome, GA, and Eric Bowers of San Diego, CA; her brother, Ricky Ralph Reeves (Wanda) of Macon, GA; her adoring grandchildren, Autumn, Elizabeth, Holden, and Hudson (children of Richard and Mary Beth); Breanna, Olivia, and Alex (children of Kelly Bowers); her three beloved nephews, (Richard, Jared, and Canaan); and five precious great nieces and nephews (Allison, Connor, Nick, Ben, and Anja).
