Carol Moate Moorman

July 23, 1948 — June 26, 2013

Carole Moorman passed away gently from lung cancer surrounded by her beloved family on Wednesday, June 26, 2013. Mrs. Moorman was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Henry Moate, and her sister, Ann Gear Elder, and brother-in-law, William Gear. Mrs. Moorman chose to donate her organs to those who are in such desperate need and to have a simple visitation and memorial at Hart's at the Cupola from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Saturday, June 29, 2013.  She has requested a celebration of life rather than death. She is confident she will be joining her Heavenly Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, and those friends and family that have preceded her in death. Graduated from A. L Miller Senior High School for Girls in 1966, Mrs. Moorman was later with Charter Medical Corporation as Director of Human Resources for ten years, with HealthSouth Central Georgia Rehabilitation Hospital for thirteen years as Director of Human Resources and lastly, with Birch Communications (previously Access Integrated Networks) as Director for five years. She retired in 2007 to spend more precious time at home with family. Please feel free to make a donation in her name to the American Lung Association, the Alzheimer's Association (Father), the American Heart Association or Susan B. Koman (Sister and Mother). Mrs. Moorman has left behind her wonderful husband, Lt. Colonel Marshall J. Moorman; her beloved sons, Todd Slocum and Drew Slocum; her nephew/son, Bill Gear; two step-daughters, Kathleen Moorman and Marcia Moorman, along with her sister, Peggy Mullis and brother, Randy Moate (Jan) of Greenville, South Carolina and numerous nieces and nephews. She had a wonderful circle of close friends whom she loved dearly, along with her precious baby dog, Bandit. Register online at www.hartsmort.com. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory at the Cupola has charge of arrangements.
