Carl V. Daniel Carl Vinson Daniel passed away peacefully on April 28, 2017. He will be greatly missed, but he is in a far better place today with no pain, just happiness and comfort with his Lord and Savior. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, May 4, 2017 in the Hart's Mortuary Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, Georgia. Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church cemetery, Irwinton, Georgia. Reverend Paul Elder will officiate. Carl was born on April 28, 1918 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. Being the baby of four children born to parents Robert M. and Joanna Martin Daniel, he was called "Babe." He grew up on several different farms where they grew their food and raised livestock. They were not affected by the depression like many families. Carl worked in the "CC" Camp and sent money home to the family during the depression years. He worked in the local "chalk" mines for many years, also helping the family. Carl had very little formal education due to the farm work and helping the family. He had the opportunity to work at Robins Air Force Base where he made more money than he had ever seen. He also received paid sick and vacation days! He saved each these paid days off until he was made to use them. Carl retired after 34 years of civil service. He was the caretaker for the Stubbs Family Cemetery in Irwinton for over 25 years. For years he cared for the homebound, elderly, and sick in his neighborhood. He was a devout Christian and active member at the Free Methodist Church in Macon, Georgia. Carl is survived by grandson Brad Fuller; great grandchildren Taylor and Justin Fuller; son-in-law James Fuller; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by Mary, his wife of 60 years; daughter Brenda Fuller; parents; brothers; and sisters. Friends may sign the guest book online at www.hartsmort.com.
