Carl Richard Barker, Sr.

Carl Richard Barker, Sr., passed away Saturday, September 1, 2012. Memorial services will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM, at Vineville Baptist Church. Dr. Tripp Martin, Danny Barker, and David Barker will officiate. Burial will be private. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure at www.komen.org.

Mr. Barker was a veteran of the United States Navy and a member of Vineville Baptist Church. He retired from the Bibb County Sheriff's Department, having served under six different Sheriffs, and retired as Sheriff of Civil Court of Bibb County. Mr. Barker was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Irma Barker.

Survivors: Son, Danny (Kathy) Barker; Son, Dicky (Kay) Barker; Son, David (Kelli) Barker; 4 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and Betty Jean Barker.
