Cammie Holmes Mccook

August 12, 1967 — April 5, 2015

Cammie Holmes McCook, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on Easter Sunday. Cammie was a native of Monticello, GA where she attended Piedmont Academy. She graduated from Salem Academy in Winston-Salem, NC and received a bachelor's degree from The University of Georgia where she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Cammie was known for her love of life, her legions of friends and especially for her husband and children. She could light up any room with her brilliant smile. To know Cammie was to love her. Cammie's passion was her children. She was an ardent supporter of each of them and their many activities. This brought her immense joy and happiness. Her enthusiasm and exuberance for life were so inspiring to all who knew this beautiful, special lady. She was also passionate about exercise and was an avid runner who loved her weekly Pilates class. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Thomas H. McCook, Jr.; children, Thomas H. McCook, III.; Evans Blackwell McCook and Shorter Hill McCook and her precious dogs, Buddy and Beau; her parents Susan and Paul Holmes of Monticello; brothers John Paul Holmes, III and wife Lou of Macon and Samuel Dykes Holmes and wife Lara of Atlanta; and nieces and nephews John Paul Holmes IV and Neil Sims Holmes of Atlanta; Samuel Dykes Holmes, Jr. and Susan Weiss Holmes of The University of Georgia; and Cammie Chapman Holmes of Atlanta: Gabrielle Rader and Mimi Rader of Macon: Her mother-in-law Mimi L. McCook and the late Thomas H. McCook of Macon: Sister-in-law Wimberley McCook Rader and husband Richard of Macon. Burial will be private and funeral services will be held at Highland Hills Baptist Church in Macon at 2 o'clock on Wednesday, April 8th. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Cammie's memory to Emory University Hospital, Leukemia Program, c/o Development Office, 1762 Clifton Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30322 will be gratefully appreciated.
