Calvin Moye Walker, Sr.

Macon- Calvin Moye Walker, Sr., 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 11:00AM at Macon Memorial Park. The family may be contacted at the residence and will greet friends on Friday from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Cross Keys United Methodist Church, 1825 Jeffersonville Road, Macon, GA 31217 or to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, 304 Pierce Avenue, Macon, GA 31204. Mr. Walker was born on December 31, 1926 in Laurens County to the late Henry F. Walker, Sr. and Lula P. Walker. He lived most of his life in Macon. After thirty-seven years of service, Mr. Walker retired from customer service and traffic supervisor from Armstrong World Industries. He was a member of Cross Keys United Methodist Church and was a former member of Macon Lodge #5, Scottish Rite, the Moose Club and the Macon Transportation Club. Mr. Walker is survived by his wife, Frances Walker; son, Calvin Moye Walker, Jr. (Jane) of Forsyth; daughter, Beverly Walker McLendon (Hugh) of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, Nanette Walker Ard of Lake Sinclair, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.
