Cal was born May 1, 1971, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Jo Carol Jones and Calvin Luther Till. He graduated from Monroe Academy High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management from Mercer University School of Engineering. He spent his career in the IT industry.

Known by all who loved him as adventurous, kind-hearted, and deeply generous, Cal was a devoted friend who built lasting relationships through his passions and selfless nature. He was a proud member of the Riverside Ford Cycling Team and the Macon cycling group. He shared countless hours riding alongside friends on various cycling adventures, forming bonds rooted in camaraderie, endurance, and joy.

An avid Porsche enthusiast, he loved the thrill of mountain roads and was an active member of the Ocmulgee Region PCA.  He was a familiar and respected presence in his community, giving freely of his time and heart through various civic organizations. Cal would do anything for someone in need—always ready to offer a hand, a listening ear, or even the shirt off his back.

He was the best brother in the world to his sister, Sherri.  Cal had an extremely forgiving take on the human condition and had friends from all social circles. He loved being “cool Uncle Cal” to his nieces and nephews.

Above all, Cal was deeply devoted to his loving wife, Julie, who was the center of his life. His eyes lit up when he spoke of her, and their bond was one of true partnership and unwavering love. He touched the lives of many through his warmth, generosity, and enduring kindness. His memory will live on in the stories, friendships, and trails he left behind.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Melvin Till of Forsyth; his best buddy, Kirby Till; sister, Sherri Till of Forsyth; stepfather, Glen Jones of Forsyth; stepmother, Faye Till of Thomaston; mother-in-law, Cheryl Melvin Lee of Macon; father-in-law, Jimmy Melvin of Covington;  step brother, Matt Jones (Allison) of Forsyth; sister-in-law, Lauren Melvin Norman (Logan) of Covington, Georgia; his nieces and nephews; his many friends and cherished cycling family.
