Calvin Boyd Jackson, Jr., passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the age of 92, in Macon, Georgia.  A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2024, in the Chapel of Hart’s on Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association. https://www.alz.org/

Son of the late Calvin Boyd Jackson, Sr. and Gwendolyn Zoe Grimm Jackson, Mr. Jackson was born in Cleveland, Ohio on June 17, 1932. He lived a fulfilling life dedicated to service and education.

Mr. Jackson proudly served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War, a period that shaped his character and values. After his military service, he became a cornerstone of the educational community in Macon, inspiring countless students as a beloved high school teacher at Central and Westside High School.

Mr. Jackson was a member of the Frontline Men's Ministry and the Friday Night Bible Study, where he shared his wisdom and faith. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and will be deeply missed by all.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his six children: Valari Kay Jackson Byrn (Jon), Marna Jackson Berryhill, Tertia Hawkins, Calvin B. Jackson III, Raymond Jackson (Sheree), and Gwen Hamlin (Michael); grandchildren: Claighton Byrn (Lizzy), Laighcey Byrn, Caleigh Eberling (Jamie Don), Patrick Jackson (Carrie), Aubrey Beers (Keith), Andrew Hawkins, Phillip Fine (Brittani), Coleman Jackson (Bridgett), Evan Jackson (Maddy), Brianna Hamlin, and Alexander Hamlin; great grandchildren: Kaceigh Kay Byrn, Oviana Marie Toki, Jon Coltus Lanier, Chloe Larae Byrn, Conner Coltus Lanier, Jamie Don Everling Jr., Kaydance Carole Byrn-Seely, Adylin Reinholtz, Everett Jackson, Weston Jackson, Corwin Beers, Caroline Beers, Aiden Jackson, Iva Jackson, and Blakely Jackson; sister-in-law, Penny Weisenstine (Neal); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Sue Fleming Jackson; and brother, Lyn Jackson.
