C. Fred Cook

Fred Cook passed away on August 6, 2016. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 6:30PM at Hart's Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032. Reverend Tom McCook, Reverend Rob McDaniel and Reverend John Irwin will be officiating with a visitation following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pitts Chapel United Methodist Church, 135 Pitts Chapel Road, Macon, GA 31217. Fred was predeceased by his wife, Harbyn Stokes Cook; parents, Hanson and Elizabeth Horne Cook; and brother-in-law, Ray Purser. He graduated from University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and from Macon State with a degree in Psychology. He was a member of Pitts Chapel UMC and Alcoholics Anonymous. He loved fishing and woodworking. He had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and thrived on making others laugh and adored spending time with his beloved Harper. Fred is survived by his daughters, Leslie Brooks (Tab) of Juliette and Hannah Cook of Hawkinsville; granddaughter, Harper Brooks of Juliette; sister, Bonnie Purser of Macon; nephews, Austin Purser, Alan Purser and Bert Purser (April); Close friend, Janice Abercrombie of Macon; and best buddy and animal companion, Sport.
