Burton E. Ussery

Burton E. Ussery, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 12, 2018. Born in Thomaston, GA, November 5, 1935, he lived in Macon for most of his life. Mr. Ussery was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was stationed in Del Rio, TX. He was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church in Juliette, GA. Mr. Ussery was a singer songwriter, releasing his very own CD on December 2, 2000. He was formerly employed by C & S Bank, and was retired from Allied Gas Company in Warner Robins, GA. Survivors: Wife of 63 years, Eunice Woodall Ussery; Daughters, Vickie (Mark) Sheridan, and Gina (Gerry) Utley; Sister, Agnes Thomas; 2 granddaughters, Lindsey and Sidney Sheridan; 2 grandsons, Carman Jaquez and Brandon Jiles, and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2018, at 12:00 PM, at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola. The Reverend Jimmy Corbitt will officiate. Burial will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2018, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bethany Baptist Church, 365 Pea Ridge Road, Juliette, GA 31046, or to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, GA 31210.
