Bruce Everette Stille, 86, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at the Baptist Gospel Mission Church, located at 30 Baptist Gospel Mission Road, Macon, GA 31217. The family will greet family and friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
Son of the late Theodore Everette Stille and Nellie Bunn Stille, Bruce was born on April 8, 1939, in Swainsboro, Georgia. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and dedicated 30 years of service to AT&T, where he retired as a project manager. After retirement, he served as a Planning and Zoning Administrator for Twiggs County, Georgia. He was a very active volunteer in Twiggs County, including implementing the 911 system.
Bruce joined Twin City Methodist Church as a child but was an honorary member of Baptist Gospel Mission for many years. He was also a respected and treasured member of the Stonewall 98 Masonic Lodge. His journey with the lodge spanned 59 years, during which he reached the honorable level of Master Mason in just three years.
Bruce was an avid fisherman and enjoyed working on cars, woodworking, working with his sawmill, or just spending time in his shop. He had a love for visiting the North Georgia mountains, especially Helen, Georgia. He loved to cook. Mostly he loved spending time with his family.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Shelby Jean Stille of Macon; children: Tracy Stille (Melissa) of Macon, Velvet Elrod (Boyd) of Forsyth, and Clint Stille (Kerry) of Macon; grandchildren: Travis Stille (Marley) of Bonaire, Georgia, and Justin Stille of Macon, Floyd Stille of Macon; great grandchildren, Caidence Stille and Casper Stille; sisters, Sandra Donaldson (Gordon) of Heflin, Alabama, Barbara Mosley (Chris) of Cobb Town, Georgia, and Shirley Brown (Keith) of Lizella, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bruce was preceded in death by his sisters, Ellen Jackson and Elaine McMillan.
