Bishop Donald Joey Hamrick

Bishop Donald Joey Hamrick passed away June 29, 2013 at a local hospital. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Church. Bishops Tim Kelly and Eddie Wiggins will officiate. Visitation will be between 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Cupola. Bishop Hamrick was born on February 14, 1944 in Arab, Alabama to the late William H. Hamrick and Sybil Johnson Hamrick. He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Dale Hamrick. Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Reba Scarbary Hamrick; two sons, Joey Clayton Hamrick (Dorothy) of Forsyth and Joseph Cason Hamrick (Heather) of Forsyth; one daughter, Holly Jo-Ellen Driggers (Dave) of Macon; 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Mac), Hannah, Mary-Clay, Colt, Sam, Autumn, Libby, Kenneth, Clara-Ellen and Joseph; 4 great grandchildren, Anne Marie, Jay, Maddox, and Lucas; 3 brothers, Billy Hamrick (Linda), Steve Hamrick (Lauren), and Ricky Hamrick (Kathy); and two special friends, Jeanne DeLange and Tanya Kuni. Bishop Hamrick attended Lanier High School and Georgia College. He has ministered in the Church of God for 36 years, pastoring at the Eatonton Church of God and Gray Church of God. He founded and pastored the Tobesofkee Church of God. He co-founded the DayStar Church of God and served there as interim pastor.
