Billy Ray Jones

Billy Ray Jones passed away Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home on Lake Sinclair. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Hart’s, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 with Rev. Randy Darnell officiating. Interment will follow at the Cedar Ridge Cemetery. The family will greet friends Tuesday, August 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Hart’s, Jones County Chapel.

Mr. Jones was the son of the late James M. and Reba Jones. He attended Lanier High School. He was a lifelong member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Macon where he served as a Deacon and on various other committees. He is presently a member of the First Baptist Church of Gray. Mr. Jones was the owner and operator of Ray Jones Plumbing Company in Macon for 45 years.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 60 years, Myrtle Jones of Lake Sinclair; son, Steven Jones; daughters Renee’ (Randy) Darnell and Michelle (Alan) Scarbary; grandchildren Anna Darnell, Ben Darnell, Luke Darnell, and Nate Scarbary; and several nieces and nephews.
