Macon-Billy J. Hartley died Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Services will be private. Family will greet friends between 2:00-4:00PM at the Gables on Forsyth Road Clubhouse, 5228 Forsyth Road on Sunday, April 29, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Central Georgia, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210. Mr. Hartley was a retired Air Traffic Controller. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Hartley Gibbs, Dorothy Hartley Chapman, and twin brother, Bobby L. Hartley. Survivors include his wife, Clara Kate Hartley of Macon; daughters, Beth (Mark) Yancey of Macon and Cathie (Ken) Herndon of Macon; three grandchildren, Matt (Erin) Yancey of Atlanta, Alex Herndon of Macon, and Hart Herndon of Macon; great grandchild, June Yancey of Atlanta; and brother, Leroy Jackson Hartley of Macon.
