Betty S. Lyles

Macon- Betty S. Lyles, 75, of Macon, died Thursday, September 24, 2009. Services will be held Sunday, September 27, 2009 at 3:00PM in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary with the Reverend Mark Hudgins officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the residence and will greet friends on Saturday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Hart's Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Association, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, GA 31201 or to the American Heart Association, P. O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384. Mrs. Lyles, a member of Shurlington Baptist Church, attended Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church. She was a member of the Moose Club, the Red Hatters and Macon Motor Boat Club. Mrs. Lyles was an avid card player and Georgia Bulldog fan. She loved being with her grandchildren. Mrs. Lyles was predeceased by her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Jesse A. Lyles, by her brother, Horace Sledge, and by her sister, Vera Hudgins. Mrs. Lyles is survived by her son, Donald J. Lyles (Cathy), and her daughter, Kathy Lyles Savage (James B.); grandchildren, Brandi Lyles, Justin Lyles, James C. Savage, Jessica L. Savage, Bryan D. Savage, and Jennifer N.
