Betty Ann Hewett

Betty Ann Hewett, 85, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2013. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at 2:00PM, in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary on Cherry Street. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. The Reverend Monty D. February will be officiating. The family will greet friends Tuesday, September 3, 2013, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM, at Hart's. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the DAV Chapter 9, Attn. Vann Edwards, 4493 Houston Ave., Macon, GA 31206 or to the Church of Christ, 3465 Hartley Bridge Rd. Macon, GA 31216. Betty Ann was a volunteer for more than 50 years for the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 9, Ladies Auxiliary, where she held various positions. She was a member at the former Second Baptist Church in Macon where she taught Sunday School and later joined the Church of Christ. Betty Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Ann Butt. She is survived by her loving family, her husband of 66 years, Coleman J. Hewett; son, Ronald C. Hewett (Tammy); grandson, Joshua Hewett; granddaughters, Jessica Hewett, Amy Macedo (Diego), Erin Carr (Johnathon), 7 great grandchildren; son-in-law, Ben Butt; and several nieces and nephews. Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, has charge of arrangements.
