Betty Lou Cumbie, 73, was born Betty Lou Robson in Rockingham, North Carolina on September 19, 1939. The daughter of the late Belvin and Ella (Blue) Robson, she went to reside with her Lord and Savior on March 16, 2013. She passed away at home sweetly surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Parkway Assembly of God, with the Reverend Joe Williams officiating. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends on Monday between 6:00 and 8:00 PM at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road. The family may be contacted at 6040 Marshall Mill Road, Lizella. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, T.H. Cumbie,Sr., son Bubba Cumbie, and two granddaughters, Stephanie Cumbie and Mitsy Cumbie. She leaves behind a son, Donnie Cumbie, Sr. of Macon, daughter Shirley A. Wood (Stacy) of Lizella, grandchildren; Michelle Ford(Shane)of Macon, Brenda Bradford (Joey)of Macon, Tresa Cook (Ben)of Warner Robins, Donnie Cumbie Jr. (Celia) of Macon, and Tiffany Todd (Andy) of Marietta, numerous great grandchildren, and her brother Leon Robson (Lois) of Monroe, North Carolina, as well as many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many friends. Betty was a home maker most of her life. She took great joy in entertaining her family and friends with food and fellowship. She taught Sunday school for many years. She was known as a great Christian lady always encouraging her family and friends to look to Jesus and find answers in His word.
