Betty Birdsong

December 31, 1932 — March 10, 2015

Betty Anne Birdsong passed away Tuesday, March 10. The family will greet friends Thursday, March 12 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Burial will be private. The family may be contacted at 117 Camerons Way, Byron. Mrs. Birdsong was a graduate of Jones County High School and Macon Hospital, School of Nursing. She was retired from the Wilkinson County Health Department as a Registered Nurse. After she retired, Mrs. Birdsong became an active participant of Living History and 18th century rendezvous and reenactments. Mrs. Birdsong was the former wife of the former State Representative Kenneth Birdsong. She was preceded in death by her parents, Peyton and Annie Stevens; her sisters, Frances James, Grace Waits, Sarah Smallwood and Hester Mitchell; and her brothers, Peyton Stevens, Jr., Robert Stevens and Thomas Stevens. Survivors include: her children, Dianne (Larry) Clark, Roger (Jackie) Birdsong, K O Birdsong, Steve Birdsong, and Joy (Luis) Garcia; grandchildren, Nikki (Wyatt) Erminger, Melissa (Jay) Touchton, Rachel Birdsong, Jason (Janna) Gatliff, Roger (Emily) Birdsong, Jr., Neal (Jenny) Birdsong, Richard (Keeley) Thompson, Michael Birdsong, Rachel (Ben) Crabtree, Angela Birdsong, Brianne Birdsong and Kenneth Birdsong; 13 great grandchildren; her brother, William (Patricia) Stevens; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
