Benny Bowden

Benny Bowden, 78, of Gray, passed away Wednesday, June 17,2020.  A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 23,2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Ridge Cemetery with the Reverend Steve Johnson officiating.  The family will greet friends Monday, June 22, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. outside Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel.   The family welcomes flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Bradley Baptist Church, 821 Monticello Hwy, Gray, GA 31032 or Jones County Cruisers, 503 Cottage Lane, Macon, GA 31210.

Mr. Bowden was a member of Bradley Baptist Church.  He retired from Rheem Manufacturing and the Jones County Sheriff’s Department.  He was also a member of the Jones County Cruisers.  Mr. Bowden was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. Bowden and Louise Tidwell Bowden and sister, Evelyn Brown.

Mr. Bowden is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janet Bowden of Jones County; children, Cherie Arrington (Craig), Stacie Bowden, Draa Bowden (Amy), all of Jones County, and Lori Walker (Eric) of Musella, Georgia; grandchildren, Destiny Arrington, Gage Arrington, Ashlee Arrington, Tyler Bowden, Mazzie Sapp, and Emily Walker; great grandchild, Bentley Arrington; brothers, Jimmy Bowden (Donna) and Jackie Bowden (Lisa) both of Macon; favorite sister-in-law, Gerry Glenn (Vernon) of Byron, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
