Beatrice Myrick Ricks

Beatrice Myrick Ricks, 91, died Saturday, January 22, 2011. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road with the Reverend Ricky Allen officiating. Burial will be at Macon Memorial Park. The family will greet friends before the service from 11:30AM until 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Heights Baptist Church, Homebound or Music Ministry, 158 Lamar Road, Macon, GA 31220.

Mrs. Ricks was predeceased by her husband, Lewis Lamar Ricks; her parents, Walter Lee and Lily Mae Myrick; and her daughter, Sara Allen. She was also predeceased by five brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Ricks is survived by her daughter, Linda Ricks Cummings (Raymond) of Stone Mountain; six grandchildren, Pam Hill of Canton, Page Holman (Alan) of Woodstock, Boyd Allen (Karen) of Macon, Ricky Allen (Susan) of Statesboro, Mark Allen (Susan) of Sandersville, and Andy Allen (Diana) of Rome, GA; nine great-grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Hill, Caroline, Joshua and Jake Holman, Kristy Mobley (Justin), April Prosser (Eric), Ashley Summers (Matt), and Adam Allen; two great-great-grandchildren, Brandon Prosser and Mason Summers; two brothers, Elmer Myrick and Herbert Myrick; and a sister, Lavonia Lord of Macon.

Mrs. Ricks was a member of New Heights Baptist Church. She was a registered nurse and Medical Surgical Head Nurse for the Medical Center of Central Georgia for about 45 years and then worked at Eastview Nursing Home. She volunteered with the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and was a volunteer caregiver for friends and family.
