Macon- Barbara L. Underwood, 87, of Macon, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00AM in Mulberry Street United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, entering the North Gate. Senior Pastor Tommy Martin and Associate Pastor Cile Mitchell will officiate. Born in Dudley, England, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Bent and Margaret May Bent. She was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and the Solomon Fellowship Sunday School Class. She served in the Women's Land Army of England during World War II. Mrs. Underwood was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 3. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred L. Underwood. She is survived by her daughters, Maureen Hatcher (Steve) of Calhoun, GA and Carol Elliott (Lloyd) of Forsyth, GA; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
