Barbara English Hutto, 73, of Macon, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014. The family will greet friends on Sunday, February 2, 2014, at 2:00 P. M. prior to the 3:00PM service in the Chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Save-A-Pet, Inc., P. O. Box 933, Forsyth, Georgia 31029. Mrs. Hutto, daughter of the late Ted and Elizabeth English, graduated from A. L. Miller High School. She was a graduate of Auburn University and received her master's degree from Florida Atlantic University. Mrs. Hutto was a teacher with the Bibb County Public Schools before joining the faculty of Middle Georgia State College where she was Chairman of the Art Department, before retiring as Professor Emeritus. She was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity, a member and past regent of the Mary Hammond Washington Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution, a member of the Sydney Lanier Chapter United Daughters of Confederacy and First Families of Georgia. She was a past board member of Macon Little Theater, a member of the James-Hyde Porter Memorial Board and a past tour guide for the Cherry Blossom Festival. Mrs. Hutto is survived by her husband, Sam L. Hutto; daughter, Maggie Hutto Shiver (Brinson) ; grandson, Charles Brinson Shiver IV; sister, Carole English Grace (Marshall) and several nieces and nephews. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
