Barbara Keller Fitzgerald

Barbara Keller Fitzgerald, 86, of Macon, GA, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023.  Private inurnment will be held at Macon Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago IL 60601.

Daughter of the late James L. Keller and raised by the paternal grandmother Bertie Bowden, Ms. Fitzgerald was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School.  After graduation, she worked at Macon Hospital.  She later began her career in banking with First National Bank and later retired from Bank of America at the age of 71.

Ms. Fitzgerald loved her family.  She spent nearly 10 years caring for her younger sister, Peggie.  She was a lifelong Atlanta Braves fan.

Ms. Fitzgerald is survived by her children, Kelly Oliver (Danny) of Macon and Don Fitzgerald (Patty) of Juliette, Georgia; 5 grandsons, Daniel Oliver (Amanda) and Benjamin Oliver (Katie Hamilton) of Atlanta, Georgia, Donny Fitzgerald (Claudine) of McDonough, Georgia, Jimmy Fitzgerald (Karla) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Tommy Fitzgerald of New Mexico; bonus grandchildren, Alex Street (Lea) of McMinnville, Tennessee, Keller Street of Marietta, Georgia; bonus great grandchild, Taylor Lyle of McMinnville, Tennessee; and niece, Christie Street (Matt) of Roswell, Georgia.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Fitzgerald was preceded in death by her sister, Peggie Oliver.
