Barbara Cowan

Barbara Cowan, 89, of Macon, passed away Monday, June 22, 2020.  Graveside services will be Saturday, June 27, 2020, at 11 AM at Fincher Memorial Cemetery in Zebulon.   In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Kidney Foundation.

Mrs. Cowan was born in Meansville, Georgia. She married William, Reggie, Cowan, Sr. November 15, 1953 in First Methodist Church in Griffin, Georgia.

Mrs. Cowan was preceded in death by her husband, Reggie Cowan, and son in law, Butch Alligood. She is survived by her children, Jan Alligood and Chip Cowan; grandchildren, Brad Alligood (Melissa), Brandi Alligood Miller (Mike), Billy Cowan, Katie Cowan, Zack Cowan, Cole Cowan, and Jay Cowan; great grandchildren, Angel, Thomas, Jeffrey, Kennsey, Nic, Nicole, and Kaisley (due November 10).

Mrs. Cowan received her bachelor’s degree from the Women’s College of Georgia and her master’s degree from the George College in Milledgeville, Georgia. Mrs. Cowan was a registered dietitian and retired from the Coliseum Park Hospital in Macon, Georgia as the directory of the dietary department.
