Barbara Johnson Burnette

Barbara Johnson Burnette, 56, of Gray, died Thursday, December 17, 2020 surrounded by family and close friends.  A memorial service will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with the Reverend John Haney, Sheriff Butch Reece, and the Reverend Aaron Burgess officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service.

Barbara worked at the Jones County Sheriff’s Department for 31 years, serving as the Chief Deputy for many years.  Her favorite past time was spending time with family and friends, traveling, and fishing. She was a loyal wife and loving mother.

Barbara is survived by her husband James “Jimmy” W. Burnette of Gray; children, Justin William Burnette and Haley Renee Burnette, both of Gray; step-son, Clayton Allen Burnette of Lizella, Georgia; step grandchildren, Gabe Burnette and Sebastian Burnette; brothers, L. Wayne Johnson (Patricia) of Gray, Billy “Bill” Johnson (Denise) of Gray, and Ronnie Johnson (Paula) of Macon; sister, Kathy Friddle (Rod) of Pfafftown, North Carolina; and many loved nieces and nephews.
