Aylene Self Keys

Aylene Self Keys, 74 of Jones County, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be held at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.

Daughter of the late Mal George and Eunice Crawford Self, Aylene worked for Security Life Insurance Company for over 25 years.   She then worked for CIGNA.  She loved baking, arts, and crafts, and planting flowers. She baked 16-layer chocolate cakes for Chevy’s Cafe.  Aylene was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Harris Keys.

Aylene is survived by daughters, Katrina Franzen of Byron, Georgia, and Shelley Lewis (Fred) of Jones County; grandchildren, Jessica Johnson of Macon, Billie Payne (Zacharie Babcock) of Byron, and Ariel Lewis of Jones County; great grandchildren, Carter Johnson and Dalton Johnson; sister, Pearl Mullis of Jones County; sister-in-law, Elaine Davis of Americus, Georgia; niece, Tracy Christian (Art) of Homerville, Georgia; and nephew, Ronnie Christian of Homerville.
