Aurie Frances Hardy Rankin Inzer of Macon, Georgia passed away to her heavenly home on March 28, 2026. She was born in Byron, Georgia in Dr. James B. Kay’s clinic on December 21, 1934, to Richard and Nettie Lee Waldron Hardy.

Frances grew up on the Bibb County family farm where her parents reared six children, with Frances being the youngest child. She is predeceased by her siblings, James Lee Hardy, Annalois Hardy Maloney, Ferrell Hardy, Jeyneil Hardy Deese, and Rachel Hardy Johnson. She attended the Redding School in Lizella, Georgia and was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School for Girls in Macon, where she was an active member of the 4-H Club.

She married Goodwin Scott Rankin Jr and reared four children. Through the years she worked for Armstrong Cork Company, Sears Roebuck and Talbot’s. In 1983, she married Shellie Howard Inzer and they were married for thirty wonderful years.

Frances joined Mulberry Street Methodist Church in 1953 where she found a loving church home for the rest of her life and was a dedicated member. She was an active member of the Methodist Women’s Circle, vice president of the United Missionary Women, active Joy Class member and served on several Mulberry boards. She was active in a variety of roles at her children’s school, Rosa Taylor Elementary. Frances found great pleasure in sewing clothes and costumes for each of her children while also needlepointing and embroidering various projects. She was an avid gardener, an excellent cook, and a charter member of the House and Garden Club. Always having a good book nearby, she belonged to the Riverside Library Club for many years and tried never to miss a meeting. She enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and several European countries and always cherished time spent in north Georgia mountains, often hiking about with fellow Macon hikers.

Frances is survived by her beloved children: Lynn Rankin of Forsyth, Susan Rankin Ginn and Candler Ginn of Cartersville, Amy Rankin Spence of Macon, Goodwin Scott Rankin III and Lauren Rankin of Forsyth, Whit and Sandy Inzer of Barrington, NH, and Steven and Monica Inzer of Clinton NY. Frances cherished her nine grandchildren, Denise and Morgan Burke of Forsyth, Mary- Frances and Michael Morgan of St. Simons Island, Alex and Sadie Ginn of Watkinsville, Whitney and Haley Spillers of middle Georgia, Scott and Lucy Rankin of Forsyth, Kelsey Inzer and Jessie Zaengle of Florence, Vermont, and Jack Inzer of New York City, along with eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend deep appreciation and gratitude for the loving and compassionate staff at The Cottages on Wesleyan.

A memorial service will be held at Mulberry Street Methodist Church on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The family will greet friends for a reception following the service in the parlor.
