Audrey Williams

Audrey Williams, 86, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Georgia on Monday, June 1, 2026.

Born on February 12, 1940, in Lucedale, Mississippi, Audrey was the daughter of the late Arthur James McInnis and Nora Mae Baggett McInnis, and the widow of James Oda Williams.

Audrey earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She devoted many years of her life to education as a dedicated schoolteacher, serving students in the Jacksonville, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, and Hattiesburg, Mississippi school systems before her retirement.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, love for Nascar racing, and deep love for animals.

Audrey will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lori Cassidy and son-in-law Brian Cassidy of St. Simons Island, Georgia; their family, Bill and Michele Cassidy, Kelly and Bob Dalhlquist, Amy and Matt Lynch; ten nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Dot Williams;

In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Retha Lee Murphy; and in-laws: Sylvia Helton (Jimmy), Charles Williams (Marilyn), Ray Williams (Peggy), and Buck Williams.
