Arthur Lewis Williams

May 17, 1925 — November 20, 2008

Macon- Arthur Lewis Williams passed away from cancer on November 20, 2008 at the John Wesley Villas where he had been convalescing for some time. Arthur was born in Dawson, Georgia to Clarence H. and Alice L. Williams on May 17, 1925. He was predeceased by his wife of more than fifty years, Paula Eagleton Williams. Mr. Williams is survived by two daughters, Judy W. Worth of Broxton, Georgia and Marte W. Cosse of Calabasas, California and one sister, Selina Frost of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He has five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Arthur, a graduate of Georgia Tech, retired from Robins Air Force Base where he served as an Electrical Engineer for twenty-seven years. He was also a retired Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy. He had a passion for quail hunting with his dogs and eating ice cream. Arthur was a genuinely honest, funny, devoted husband and father. The family would also like to thank the staff of John Wesley Villas and Hospice Care Options, especially Julie Hallman and Nelda Massey, for their loving care of Mr. Williams. Our warmest and special thanks go out to his best friends, Roy and Betty Wood, who stuck by him through thick and thin. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 3:00PM at Tattnall Square Presbyterian Church. The family will greet friends on Saturday at the church from 2:30PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice Care Options, 1125 Walnut Street, Macon, GA 31201. Arthur will be dearly missed… Online register is located at www.hartsmort.com.
