Arthur Leroy Mcconnell

Arthur L. McConnell passed away on December 24, 2015 at the age of 96. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at 12:00PM at New Salem Baptist Church, New Salem/Miller Church Road, Jones County, GA. Reverend Eddie Windham will be officiating and the visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow the service with military honors. Arthur is predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Jeannette Weaver McConnell, parents Leroy and Margaret McConnell, and two brothers and a sister. He served in the navy during World War II on the USS Nautilus submarine in the Pacific Theater. He enjoyed playing piano and violin earlier in his life and drove a Trailways bus for 25 years. Arthur is survived by his brother Robert McConnell of North Carolina and sister Janet Walker of Massachusetts. Register online at www.hartsmort.com.
