Antonio Vincent Lopez

Antonio Vincent (Vince) Lopez, 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Vince was born on April 24, 1938 in Montgomery, AL to Eva May (Hall) Maschi (d.1995).  He was preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph C. Maschi (d. 2005); and his brother, Joseph P. Maschi in 2016.

Vince graduated with his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Auburn University and received his Ph.D. from the University of Mississippi. Vince was a devoted educator at Mercer University College of Pharmacy for over 30 years.  He was awarded the title Professor Emeritus at the College of Pharmacy and is remembered as a positive, interesting and passionate faculty member.  He was an inspiration to both the faculty and students at the College and was responsible in shaping many successful pharmaceutical careers of his students.  Known for his dry wit and gentle spirit, Vince remained active in his Buckhead community through his retirement years, especially at his home church at Cathedral of Christ the King.

Funeral service for Vince will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the Cathedral of Christ the King, 2699 Peachtree Road, Atlanta, GA  30305.  In lieu of flowers, you may make contributions to the A. Vincent Lopez Endowed Scholarship fund to Mercer University College of Pharmacy, Attn: University Advancement, 3001 Mercer University Drive, Atlanta, GA 30341.
