Anne Elizabeth Shipps: 90, died on August 11, 2011 at her home in Bloomington, Indiana where she had lived for three years after extended residences in California and Texas. Born in Macon, she was the daughter of the late Harrold S. Shipps and Mary Wimberly Shipps. She is survived by two brothers, Harrold S. Shipps Jr. of Durango, Colorado and Anthony W. Shipps of Bloomington, Indiana, their wives, and several nieces and nephews. During World War II, Anne served as a nurse in the U.S. Army. After the war she worked as a nurse and bookkeeper. Following early retirement, she and a colleague, Harry Jones of Austin, Texas, established a ministry to persecuted Christians throughout the world. It was known as "Unto the Least of These, Inc." A graveside service for her will be conducted by the Reverend Tom Ivey in the Wimberly family lot in Rose Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 15, 2011.
