She went to high school at Prattville High School in Alabama and went on to earn a degree in Home Economics from her beloved Auburn University. Our sweet angel of a Mother, Ann Hutchison Peake, joined her mother Hutchie (Mabel Buckner Hutchinson) and her sister Blanche Jones, in what must surely be the Mom's Hall of Fame in Heaven. For those that knew our Mom, you knew what an incredibly special woman she was. A rock for our family, who never ever wavered in her love for her children, or for her Savior. A woman whose character and faith were molded not by an easy life, but by the tough storms that shape who we are. Her own father died when she was young, so Mom and her sister were raised in rural Alabama by a single mother who taught English, learning to survive with dignity, as true southern women. Mom then raised 6 kids during the rough and tumble years of the 60's and 70's, with her children testing her at every opportunity! And then she endured some very difficult times that would have crippled most women, but she held to her faith to become stronger. Our mom, just like her mom before her, has left a legacy of love, faith, and hope to her 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. We can only hope that we can honor her life, by living the way she did - loving her family with all her heart, never leaving a doubt that we were unconditionally accepted and loved by her, just as we are, warts and all. Her unwavering faith has been a testament to each of us, and there is NO doubt, that she is in glory right now. Thank you to all of our family and friends for being a part of celebrating her life today. Our mom, Ann Peake, was indeed, one classy, wonderful, sweet, and precious woman. Our lives are all richer by having been influenced by her incredible life.
