Ann was a beacon of light in the lives of her family and friends, embodying a spirit of loving gentleness and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire those who knew her. Ann was the beloved matriarch of her family, a role she fulfilled with grace and devotion. Her family was her life, and her love for them was evident in every action and every word. She was the proud and loving mother of Mardi Kent, Nancy Bass (Mark), Lawrence Mayne Jr., (Chris), all of Gray, and Laurie Owens (Cody) of Honolulu, Hawaii. She was also the cherished grandmother of Corey Greene, Amanda Moore, Joshua Greene, Holly Beard, John Mayne, Victoria Nolan, Joshua Kent, Colt Kent, April Williams, Rebecca Woolums, Brittany Harvey, Andy Stark, Emma Owens, and Daniel Owens. Ann delighted in her role as a great-grandmother, sharing her love and wisdom with 19 great-grandchildren. Ann was the sister of Margaret Seals, Leslie Hinojosa, Jessica Carter, Linton Savage, Jr., Larry Bruce, and Jere Savage. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Lawrence “Buddy” Mayne, grandparents, Momo and Popo, and her sisters, Laurie Wilson and Bee Lanham. The loss of these loved ones was deeply felt, but Ann's faith gave her strength and comfort in times of sorrow. A long-standing member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ann served her community with passion and dedication. She taught Sunday School, led Children's Church, and worked in the kitchen, always ready to lend a helping hand. Her faith was an integral part of who she was, and she lived it out daily, touching many lives through her service. Ann's interests were as varied as they were heartfelt. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like camping and going to the beach. These activities brought her closer to nature and provided opportunities for quality time with her family. Her gentle spirit and loving nature made every outing an occasion to remember. Despite the sadness of her passing, we find comfort in the memories of Ann's faith-filled life. She was a woman of strong faith, gentle love, and boundless generosity. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. We celebrate Ann's life, remembering her not only for her dedication to her family and her faith but also for her kindness, her warmth, and her unwavering love. She was a woman who made the world a better place simply by being in it. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us.
