Ann Reeves Johnson

Ann Reeves Johnson, 90, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. A memorial service will be held on October 10, 2026, at 11:00am at Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola, with a visitation afterwards.

Ann was born on December 16, 1935, in Milledgeville, Georgia, to the late Corbin Frederick and Oreta Smith Reeves. The second of three children, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fredric and Gerald. She recently and jokingly told her nieces that “brothers are the worst.” She was the quintessential middle child, fiercely independent and self-reliant. She enjoyed a good book, particularly crime and legal thrillers, and discussing and exploring family ancestry with her brother Gerald.

While studying business at Georgia State College for Women, now GCSU, she began secretarial work for a law office in Milledgeville. Five years later, she began her life-long career as an administrative assistant for the law offices of Anderson, Walker, & Reichert in downtown Macon. Having never retired and truly loving her job, she remained an irreplaceable employee there 70 years later.

Ann is survived by her nieces and nephews, Michelle Reeves (Jim), Jennifer Reeves Cobb (Shane), Janet Reeves Kitchens, Fredric “Ricky” Reeves (Cheryl), and Bennett Reeves (Trish); her great nieces and nephews, Melissa Reeves, Alexander Cobb, Elcee Cobb, Corbin Cobb, Chris Lewis, Stephanie Taylor, and Taylor Reeves Hogg (Brandon); her sister-in-law, Judy Lamb; and the close friends she considered family at Anderson, Walker, & Reichert. She was preceded in death by her husband, Colquitt Reid Johnson.
