Ann Kite Hall was born Marion Ann Kite on November 8, 1942, and died peacefully at home surrounded by loving family on October 22, 2025, at the age of 82. She lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and deep devotion to her family.
Ann’s early schooling was at Alexander III and A.L. Miller High School. She was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she earned an AB degree in English. She went on to teach English in Clarke, Oconee and Bibb Counties before her children were born.
A long-time member of Vineville United Methodist Church, Ann was involved in many different ministries. She taught fifth grade Sunday School, served on the Council of Ministries, and participated in various Bible studies. Ann also delivered altar flowers to members unable to attend worship, as a reminder that they remained in the thoughts and prayers of the congregation. Through the church, Ann volunteered in the Pleasantville Ministry as a tutor for students at L.H. Williams School and also served as the Volunteer Coordinator for that program from 2018 to 2019.
Ann was a faithful volunteer in the Macon Outreach program at Mulberry Methodist Church, following in the footsteps of her mother Frances Kite. Ann volunteered for many years with Macon Outreach, serving on their Board of Directors and as President of the Board. Ann also was a member of the Junior League of Macon and many other community clubs.
Though community involvement and volunteerism were important to her, Ann’s biggest joy was her family. Her grandchildren called her Mimi, and she was a constant in all of their lives – attending many of their school and athletic events, picking them up from school, having them spend the night with her and Key/Ken, and hosting their families on annual beach vacations to Amelia Island for many years.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Frances Smith Kite and Jesse Kite, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fletcher Kennedy Hall; daughters Clisby Louise Hall (Robert Zarabi), Kathleen Hall Jones (Tom) and Frances Hall Lamb (Stephens); grandchildren John (Jack) Costley Barrow, IV, Emily Ann Jones Barnes (Andrew), Josephine Kennedy Lamb, Thomas Price Jones, V, and William Stephens Lamb, III; her step-grandchildren Joshua Nicholas Zarabi (Emmy) and Alexander Louis Zarabi; her brother Jesse (Tee) Kite, III (Pankey); sister Sally Kite Lowery (Coyet); nieces Elizabeth Orr (Drew) and Lauren Williams (Shane); and other extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Hart’s at the Cupola (6324 Peake Road) on Friday, October 24th from 5:00 to 7:00pm, and the funeral service will be held at Vineville United Methodist Church on Saturday, October 25th at 2:00pm.
