Anita Hester Teipel

Anita Hester Teipel, 92, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Tuesday September 19, 2023.

Daughter of the late Ulysses Grant Hester and Annie Myrtis Little Hester, Anita was born in Jacksonville, Florida on January 23, 1931, and had been a resident of Macon, Georgia since 1964, She attended Wesleyan College where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree and Macon State College where she received an associate degree in nursing.

Anita was a dedicated Registered Nurse who specialized in psychiatric nursing. She invested much of her time and effort in public education, particularly focusing on increasing the understanding and awareness of mental health issues in society. She had a long-life passion for antiques that led her to owning Piddler's Canopy Antique Showroom. She was also actively involved in volunteer work in her community.

Anita will be lovely remembered by her sons, John Trooper Teipel (Cydney), and David Teipel; daughter Jan Teipel; grandchildren: Ansley Teipel, Evan Teipel, Colton Teipel (Megan), Austen Teipel, and Brennen Teipel; two grandchildren, Harrison and Cline; and daughter-in-law, Erin Doyle.
