Anita McLellan, 93, died on Thursday, December 11, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert. They had 55 loving years together. Visitation will be held at Hart's at the Cupola from 4:00-6:00PM on Saturday, December 13, 2014. Funeral services will be 2:00PM on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with Father Michael Kavanaugh officiating. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery. Mrs. McLellan was a lifelong resident of Macon and had lived at Carlyle Place for the last 11 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was also a member of and held offices for the Macon Women's Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Garden Club. A volunteer for the Cherry Blossom Festival in the initial years, she served as a popular tour guide. Mrs. McLellan worked for the Social Security Administration, the U.S. Attorney's Office and retired as secretary for Federal Judge Wilbur Owens, a job she truly loved. In this capacity, she recorded a deposition of a President at the White House. Mrs. McLellan's passions were dancing and bridge. She loved to read and travel. She never met a stranger and was blessed with a wealth of friends. Mrs. McLellan leaves behind her loving children, Angela Eggleston (Tom) of Newport News, Virginia, Carole Karoly (Allen) of New Port Richey, Florida, Allyson Griffies (John) of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Albert McLellan, Jr. (Martha) of Macon. Also survived by her brother, GV (Buddy) Harvey of Macon; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
