Amy Ford Drinkard

Amy Ford Drinkard passed away on September 16, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 18, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Hart’s at the Cupola on Peake Road in Macon, GA.

Amy was born in Macon, GA, on December 6, 1965, to Jimmy and Annette Ford and remained in Middle Georgia for most of her life. She graduated from Windsor Academy in 1984 and subsequently from Georgia Southern University in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in English. After college, she began a job at Robins Air Force Base where she remained for her entire career, retiring in 2022 after 34 years of service.

Amy is survived by her husband, Bo Drinkard; son Justin (Taylor) Belk; grandson Rory Belk; parents Jimmy and Annette Ford; brothers Randy (Teresa) and Steve (Laura) Ford; stepchildren Renn and Julianna Drinkard; nephews Charlie (Eileen) Ford, Dalton (Sarah) Ford, and Camden Ford.

Amy loved the outdoors, and it was not unusual to see her working in the yard or out walking the neighborhood. She was also an avid reader, often spending free time relaxing with a good book. The beach was her happy place, and in recent years she frequently spent time with family at her villa on Hilton Head Island.

Amy never met an animal she didn’t like and was the proud fur mom to her beloved Boykin Spaniel, Max, along with her cats, Stanley and Roxanne. In her retirement, she cherished giving back to her community by volunteering with PAWS of Middle Georgia and the Macon Volunteer Clinic.
