Alphonse N. Boissy, Jr.

Alphonse N. Boissy, Jr., 90, passed away August 15, 2010, at Winter Park Memorial Hospital, Winter Park, FL. Born April 4, 1920, in River Forest, IL, he grew up in the Chicago area. Al's life can be characterized by love - of learning, golf and his family.

His military service took him to Camp Wheeler, near Macon, GA where he met and married Adeline Small Lane, a Macon native.

While earning a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering degree at Georgia Tech, he was a member of Kappa Alpha Order, Omicron Delta Kappa and served as Vice President of the Senior Class.

A marketing executive for Buster Brown Textiles for 21 years, he lived with his family in a variety of cities including Bronxville, NY, Atlanta, GA, and Greenwich, CT.

Retiring to Orlando, FL, he served as Vice President of Real Estate for Walt Disney World. A Bay Hill resident, he was a member of Bay Hill Club and Lodge and a founding member of the Citrus Club. After the birth of his first grandchild he moved to Sarasota, FL, where he was a member of Palm Aire Country Club and active in numerous community activities. After residing briefly in Greenville, NC, he returned to Central Florida to be near family.

Al was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years. Survivors include his sister, Lauraine Bollnow of Phoenix, AZ, daughter, Andrea Boissy Lyon, of Orlando, FL and grandsons, Andrew Wade Lyon, New Smyrna Beach, FL and Austin Randolph Lyon, Orlando, FL. Survivors also include great grandsons Aidan Thomas Lyon and Bodhi Robert Lyon, New Smyrna Beach, FL.

A celebration of his life will be held at Hart's Mortuary at the Cupola, Macon, GA, at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 21st. A reception hosted by Ms. Eleanor Lane at her home, 5300 Zebulon Road, #49, Macon, will follow the celebration.
