Alex Melton Strozier, Sr.

Alex Melton Strozier, Sr.  92, of Macon, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2024.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2024, in the Chapel of Hart’s at the Cupola. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Strozier was born on August 4, 1931, in Macon, to the late Robert Cobb Strozier, Sr. and Bessie Eunice Melton Strozier.  He graduated from Lanier High School in 1950 and furthered his education at Georgia Tech.  He retired from Georgia power after 40 years of service and was a member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors.

Mr. Strozier was a member of Lizella Baptist Church, and former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He loved his Lord and Church and was an excellent example of how a Christian should live.  He was a man with great integrity, humor and faith and kept Baptist village entertained with his stories and humor.

Mr. Strozier was a talented woodworker. He enjoyed making models of many items including Ferris wheels, churches, and clocks.

Mr. Strozier will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Alex Melton Strozier, Jr. (Paula) of Macon, Anita Strozier Vause (Dave) of Columbia, South Carolina, and Paul Andrew Strozier (Mariann) of Ohio; son-in-law, Walter Kyte of Forsyth; grandchildren: Alex Melton Strozier, III, Troy Strozier, Rachel Wynn (Kyle), Travis Kyte (Lindsey), David Nicholas Vause (Bethany), Mallory Elliott and Paul Andrew Strozier, Jr. (Amy); ten great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Maudie F. Strozier; daughter, Nancy Kyte; grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Moore and Wendy April Allen; sisters, Bessie Strozier Johnson and Dr. Leigh M. Strozier; brother, Robert Strozier Jr. and his wife, Alice.
