Alera "Jill" Elliott

Alera Jill Elliott, 71, of Macon and formerly of Atlanta, died on April 5, 2023, two days shy of her 72nd birthday.  Jill was the daughter of the late Judge Tilman E. Self, Sr. and Mary Paul Davis Self.  She is survived by her two children, Alera Jill Simpson, of Ballground, Georgia, and Foster Davis Simpson, of Atlanta, Georgia, her "godchildren," Lauren, Dustin, Victoria, and Madison Hadley, of Atlanta, her brother, Judge William J (Jane) Self, nephews and nieces, Judge Tilman E. "Tripp" (Amy) Self, Shane (Amy) Self, all of Macon, Philip Self, Jr., Matthew Self, Jessica (James) Hawbaker, Tonya S. (Dusty) Allen, and Mary Catherine S. (Michael) O'Neal.

Jill was an attorney, a licensed Realtor, and a professional comedian.  Her usually hilarious, often poignant Facebook posts were legendary: a legacy to "Atlanta's Funniest Lady."

A celebration of Jill's life, as she requested "with champagne and Motown music," will be held in the future.  At Jill's request, there will be no formal services.  The family will greet friends at a visitation to be held Friday, April 14, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola.
