Adeline Petke Laborde

Macon- Adeline Petke LaBorde (Dell), died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, after a brief illness. Born in Thomaston, Conn., (on St. Francis Day, October 4th), she was the daughter of the late Adolf and Amollia Petke. A member of St. Francis Episcopal Church since moving to Macon in 1968 with her family (from Afghanistan), Dell sang in the church choir, served on the Vestry as the Senior Warden, served on the Search Committee & was active in the Haitian Hope Ministries. Throughout the years, Dell offered leadership in most all of the ministries of her beloved St. Francis Church. In addition to being a devoted wife, mother, and dear friend, Dell enjoyed many close relationships with her fellow employees at Central Bank, Leggett & Associates, and Webster Waste Systems, where she was the office manager. Mrs. LaBorde was a proud alumna of Pembroke University and Brown University. Survivors include daughter, Caroline E. LaBorde, son, Hasell Thomas LaBorde, Jr., her grandson, Dylan Thomas LaBorde, many very beloved nieces and nephews, and many four-legged friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Dr. Hasell Thomas LaBorde, Sr. and her brothers, Charlie and Raymond Petke. The Celebration of Her Life will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church, located at 432 Forest Hill Road, on Friday, May 28, 2010, at 2:00 P.M.
