Ada Omitene Dean, 101 years of age, died August 30, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Tuesday, September 2nd at New Heights Baptist Church, Macon, GA with interment in Attalla, AL. Pastor Mark Johnson will officiate. The family will meet friends one hour prior to the service at the church and may be contacted at the home of her daughter Patricia Stevens, 1500 Highway 49, Jones County. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to New Heights Baptist Church, 158 Lamar Road, Macon, GA 31220 or to The American Cancer Society. -Mrs. Dean and her husband, Mr. P. G. Dean and daughter moved from Alabama to Georgia in 1951. She was a former member of Cherokee Heights Baptist Church for 52 years and was now under Watch Care of New Heights Baptist Church. She was a member of the TEL Sunday School class, The Saints Alive Choir and the WMU. She worked for 18 years for A & J Manufacturing Company in Gadsden, AL. In Macon she worked for Cagles Poultry for 20 years, retiring at age 80. When she was able, she visited shut-ins, nursing homes and sat for a number of people to let the family do necessary things. She was predeceased by her husband P. G. Dean, her sister Mrs. Geraldine Lovvorn, her brother Wilfred Waldrop and her parents Susie and Charlie Waldrop. -Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Stevens; son-in-law Billy Stevens; Granddaughters, Tina Stevens and Sharon Varner and her husband, Michael Varner; two great-grandsons, Michael Shannon Varner and Will Varner and several nieces and nephews and cousins. -Hart's Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street has charge of the arrangements.
