Abigail "Gail" Davis

Mrs. Abigail “Gail” Davis, 61, of Jones County, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023.  Inurnment will be at Middle Georgia Memorial Gardens, Friday, December 22, 2023 at 1:00PM. Memorial services will be at God’s Grace Baptist Church, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, Georgia 31032, Sunday, January 7, 2024 at 2:00PM with the Reverend Ricky Feagin officiating.

Gail graduated in 1980 from Daughtery High School in Albany and earned a degree in accounting from Moultrie Technical School in 2008. A hard-working woman, Gail worked at the Waffle House for twenty-two years doing everything from serving, cooking, and managing the team.  She enjoyed watching soap operas like “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless” and collecting apples of all kinds.  She loved to play the card game “UNO” with her family, but she always played to win and was hard to beat!  Her family remembers her sweet habit of joking every time she saw a University of Georgia “G”, that the “G” stood for Gail.  Gail was also a talented crafter who enjoyed crochet and knitting.  Her garden was full of the flowers she grew, including her beloved gladiolas. Gail was a member of God’s Grace Baptist Church and will be remembered for her faith and her love for her family.

Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Davis; daughter, Heather Amanda Shambaugh Shellman; parents, John and Eleanor Turner; and brothers Alvin Wright and John Quincey Turner, Jr.   She is survived by her daughter, Vickie Shambaugh Lang (Ray), of Jones County; granddaughter, Kylie Jade Shellman, of Macon; son-in-law, Arthur Shellman, of Macon; brother, Stacey Duane Turner (Christina) of Tifton; niece, Kathryn Turner of Tifton; nephews, Brandon Phillips (Carrie) of Tifton and Reed Turner of Tifton; and a great-niece and a great-nephew.
