Roger Jb Thompson

Mr. Roger J.B. Thompson, 79, of Gray, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023.  Funeral services will be at Hart’s Mortuary Jones County Chapel, Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 3:00PM with the Reverend Steve Johnson officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Elam Memorial Gardens.  The family will greet friends one hour before the service.

Mr. Thompson proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired from the Warner Robins Air Force Base after over thirty years there.  He had a passion for cars and was even a member of a Corvette club.  His Corvette he nicknamed “Lady in Red” held a special place in his heart.  Mr. Thompson enjoyed telling jokes and spinning tall tales for his grandsons.  Above all, he will be remembered for his love and devotion to his family.

Mr. Thompson is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Sandra Johnson; and shortly before his death, his beloved dog, Bebe. He is survived by his son, Michael Thompson (Penny Meredith) of Butler, Georgia; daughter, Amy Peacock (Heath) of Gray; grandchildren, Lance Peacock of Montana, Michael Dale Thompson of Eastman, Georgia, Jackson Peacock of Gray, and Aaron Thompson of Butler; brother, Richard Thompson (Polly Ann) of Atlanta; and great-grandson, Charlie Russell of North Carolina.
