Conrad Buchanan Mcnair

Conrad Buchanan McNair, 82, of 3790 Overlook Avenue, died Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 11:00AM at Ingleside Baptist Church with Dr. Tim McCoy officiating. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Ingleside Baptist Church, 834 Wimbish Road, Macon, Georgia 31210, Meals on Wheels, 1212 Gray Highway, Macon, Georgia 31201,or the Salvation Army, 1955 Broadway, Macon, Georgia 31201. Conrad was a charter member of Ingleside Baptist Church. The son of the late W. O. and Annie Mae McNair, he was predeceased by his son, Conrad B. McNair, Jr., and his brother, William O. McNair, Jr. He was a graduate of Duke University and a veteran of the United States Army. He was the owner and broker of McNair Realty. Mr. McNair lived the life of Walter Mitty. He was a world traveler and traveled to more than 139 countries. His favorite trip to New Zealand included bungee jumping at age 60. He taught Safe Driver's Classes for AARP as recently as last week at the Wellness Center and served on the Salvation Army Citizen's Advisory Board from 1982 until 2012. He served on the Board of Foster Grandparents and was a charter member of The Macon Civic Club. Mr. McNair also served as President of the Board of Realtors in 1989 and was a founding member of Macon MLS. He loved antiques and old cars. He was an avid bridge player and won the Three Dollar Pot the night he died. Mr. McNair is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Jacqueline McNair; son, William Hanna McNair (Jamie) of Macon; daughter, Andrea Leigh Arnott (Noel) of England; brother, Larry Delano McNair of Washington; grandchildren, Ashley Hanna McNair and Corey Buchanan McNair.
